About Me

Cyndi Salemy, MS, CNS, LDN

Welcome to Food for Mood! I started this initiative to offer nutrition-based counseling and educational programs that highlight the important connection between diet, lifestyle choices, and mood and anxiety disorders. My mission is to foster positive and proactive interventions that emphasize how a healthy diet, restorative sleep, and regular physical activity can enhance emotional regulation.

Having witnessed firsthand the impact of depression and anxiety on individuals and their families, I approach my work with compassion and a non-judgmental attitude. I strive to create a supportive environment where trust and collaboration can flourish.

 

As a mom of three, I’ve discovered that nutrition can be a powerful way to spark conversations about mental health across all ages, especially adolescents. Many people don't realize how their lifestyle choices can contribute to feelings of anxiety and depression. I aim to empower individuals to make lasting changes to their diet and lifestyle habits that promote a positive mood and overall well-being.

 

I reside in Morris County, NJ, with my husband and our playful dog, Rocket. Our three daughters are now young adults, each embracing their unique paths in life. In my spare time, I love playing tennis and pickleball, hiking, tackling the daily Wordle and Spelling Bee puzzles, and cherishing moments with family and friends.
